Cradley Heath Community Link urgently needs volunteers.

The Project was set up to meet a need within the community, by enabling families struggling with the cost of providing school uniform for their children, to receive good quality items free of charge. The vision being, to prevent children being stigmatised as well as excluded from school due to the lack of proper clothing and the stress which such action ultimately causes.  School uniform is often very expensive, especially if it is branded and only obtainable from certain retailers.

Currently we are receiving donations of unwanted or outgrown uniform which will enable the project to meet its objectives as, once items are sorted, packed an labelled, they are then ready to be given out to families in need.   This all sounds very simple, and it is, but it is also a lot of hard work and we urgently need volunteers to help with the sorting and packing and labelling.

Many families have already benefitted greatly from the project and, as a volunteer, it can at times be very emotional but also deeply rewarding – it is a privilege to do God’s servant work in this way and to show his love to those in need.  Seen as a re-cycling project it is also eco-friendly which not only helps the local community but the world as a whole.

Change to Service Time this Sunday 24th July 2022

This Sunday, the Queen’s Baton Relay will come through Dudley. This will necessitate some road closures in Dudley between 12PM and 6:30 PM. This may cause problems for those who park in town, so a decision has been made that the Mass this Sunday will start at 10:30 AM. To ensure that vehicles are removed from the town centre, everyone should promptly leave church after the service.

To see which road will be closed please see here: https://www.dudley.gov.uk/things-to-do/commonwealth-games/traffic-information/

If you want to know where to see the baton, please see here: https://www.dudley.gov.uk/qbr/
